Mega Golf, Mega Pubs
Chasing Great Courses & Great Pubs
For the Core Fore, golf is about more than just the scorecard. It’s about the journey, the courses, the characters we meet along the way—and, of course, finding a great pub when the round is over.
We travel wherever the game takes us, chasing some of the finest and most memorable golf courses in the world. From the coastlines of Ireland and Scotland to the legendary courses across the United States, we’re always looking for the next great layout, the next unforgettable round, and the next story to bring home.
We have a particular appreciation for courses designed by the great architects of the game. Tom Fazio, Jack Nicklaus, Michael Hurdzan, Donald Ross, Gary Player, and, of course, Pete Dye have each left their fingerprints on courses that challenge, inspire, and occasionally humble us. We’re especially proud to recognize Michael Hurdzan, a Columbus native, whose work is a special connection to home. The Tom Fazio remodel of Waterville maybe our groups favorite all time course.
And then there are the Alister MacKenzie courses—a special highlight for the Core Fore. Their timeless designs, strategic brilliance, natural beauty, and emphasis on thoughtful shot-making make these courses something truly special.
But the experience doesn’t end when we walk off the 18th green. Some of our best memories are made afterward—sitting around a table at a local pub, telling stories about the day's best shots, worst decisions, questionable rulings, and the putt that definitely should have gone in.
We chase great golf. We seek out great courses. We visit great pubs. And most importantly, we enjoy the journey together.
Because for the Core Fore, the best part of the game isn't always where the ball ends up—it's where the game takes us.
Legend golf course architects
2024 — Meet Jack Nicklaus
A truly unforgettable experience meeting one of the greatest players and course designers in the history of golf, Jack Nicklaus.
2025 — Meet Michael Hurdzan
We had the incredible opportunity to meet Michael Hurdzan, a Columbus native and renowned golf course architect. We spent time discussing all things Erin Hills, his approach to course design, and the game we love. He also gave us a personal look at his extraordinary golf museum, filled with an amazing collection of golf history and memorabilia.
The Future — Chasing More Legends
The journey continues. Our goal is to meet more of the legends who have shaped the game, including Tom Fazio, Gary Player, and Tom Watson.
For the Core Fore, it’s not just about playing the great courses—it’s about meeting the people who helped create them and hearing the stories behind the game.
